Driving home from errands this Saturday morning I passed these two garage sale signs. Within about 30 seconds of each other. I was struck with how different they are. The white one: clear, readable, “professional.” But a bit sterile, isn’t it? The blue one: a bit harder to read, maybe; but it has some life to it, some character.
Ever the student of marketing I drove by both houses. The blue sign was winning, by a car count, which was my bet after seeing both.
Lesson: When going for “professional” make sure it isn’t at the expense of authenticity, soul, character, realness, whatever you want to call it.
