My Story

I’m Hamilton Wallace. Looking back, everything since I can remember pointed me toward what I do.

I grew up with a stutter, which made me acutely aware of how you put words together. And then in college I walked out of a class having had my mind officially blown. The class, Reasoning, Logic and Persuasion, taught me how to see behind words to dissect arguments; stripping away the BS to reveal the truth about the message.

Good training, it turned out, for a future marketer.

Fast forward to me as a freshly minted IBM salesman solving complex business problems with high-priced “big iron.”

I’ll never forget the day that changed…

I was having lunch with a customer when he thanked me, saying the informal marketing advice I had given him a couple months prior was just as valuable to his business as all the equipment I had just sold him. That got my attention, especially after it happened again, and then again until I realized I enjoyed this more than my job selling for IBM.

By the way, the inset image above? Reminding myself what it feels like to do things that scare you in my third Tough Mudder.  But I digress…

The mind blowing part:

The mind blowing part was this kept happening. So I quit my job at IBM, got an MBA, ran the marketing for two small companies and then finally declared myself a marketing consultant. That was more than 30 years ago.

Since then I’ve faced every conceivable marketing challenge at the side of my clients. And I’ve learned valuable lessons. From successes. And from failures. But working together, with what you know and with my experience, I wouldn’t bet against us!

And now about us. We help business owners increase sales.

“Us” describes me, Jon Wallace, and a small group of independent contractors who allow me to build out as large or small a firm as you need.

I bring 30+ years of experience working with small businesses in almost every industry. All the time honing my direct response marketing chops. Direct marketing focuses on generating a response — getting people to do something.

Jon brings a younger perspective to our recommendations and a unique energy to how we implement. He keeps us current with all-things-Google, and if you’re growing your business in 2021, it’s good to remember, it’s Google’s world, we just live in it.

He also brings an interesting eye to the visual work we do. One of his passions is photography, primarily of the machines and people of motorcycle racing. HIs sense of composition is informed by 75,000+ shots of riders shooting up the hill at the Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb. Some of which have made it into magazines and fashion sites here and abroad.

So, while we do a lot of things, the only thing we do that matters is increase sales. Sales either grow as a result of what we do or they don’t. Clients keep us around as long as they do and fire us when they don’t.

And isn’t this why you’re here, really here?

There are many things that go into increasing sales, but it gets down to accomplishing a few fundamental things:

  • Attract more of the right people to your business. Your website is a key.
  • Increasing the percentage of those people who turn into a lead or customer. Again, your website is important because people go to it early in their purchase journey.

We do what needs doing:

Develop strategy

Uncover Story and write sales copy

Drive implementation

Focus on website conversion

Test, test, test.

The changes we recommend are informed by the people they’re designed to appeal to. We work with your creative people or ours to make these changes.

We don’t do anything in a vacuum.

I’ll talk to you because we want to understand what you want customers to know. I’ll talk to your customers because we want to know more about how they find products like yours. And why.

So Here We Are…

And now, here we are. My stuttering is all but gone away, I’m still chasing that feeling I get when sales go up, and I’m helped by a lot of amazing people. That leaves you. You’re here looking for something that makes sense. Or someone. Something that makes sense you can afford. something that makes sense that gets results.

I’d be honored to learn more about the challenges you face and the problems you want solved. You can call during regular business hours: 602-369-1009. Or email me: [email protected]
